A recent article on The Chronicle of Higher Education website stressed the challenges for US universities in the booming Indian international education market. Among those challenges was the ability to stand out in a crowded field, attract international students to mid-level institutions whose brand names are unknown, and provide relevant information to the right students. CampusTalk is a GlobalCampus feature that allows university staff, alumni, and current international students to connect and communicate with students who are actively searching for universities on GlobalCampus. CampusTalk allows university staff and alumni to answer questions directly from prospective students. Often these questions are about scholarships, admissions requirements, and campus life. CampusTalk is your university’s personal, online forum attached to your profile. It’s similar to having a booth at an admissions fair.

One of our most exciting releases this past month has been the addition of our scholarship matching tool. When students create their profile, they are instantly matched with scholarships in our database based on their profile criteria. Currently we match students based on their citizenship, gender, age, and educational goals such as study destination, targeted subject and degree level. With millions of dollars in scholarships unclaimed each year, we aim to give international students the information they need to pursue those scholarships.

It’s been an exciting few months here at GlobalCampus and we’re well overdue for an update! Since our launch back in May, we have signed up over 14,000 students in 129 countries on our site. These are talented future international students from all over the world, such as China, India, Pakistan and Rwanda, who are hoping to get noticed by universities. Therefore as our online community grows, we grow!
